Report Writing for General Ledger and Accounts Payable Staff

Overview Learn how to create reports of general ledger and accounts payable information. Participants are encouraged to bring samples of reports they need to create. Workshop time will be allotted to create some of these reports.

Prerequisites Knowledge of agency’s chart of accounts, financial statements, and fiscal reporting needs and requirements. Operational knowledge of General Ledger and Accounts Payable functions.

Intended Audience Accountants, Controllers, Chief Financial Officers, accounting personnel that are responsible for compiling accounting data for management review, and MIS staff responsible for producing reports containing payable and/or ledger information.

Agenda Day One:
* General Ledger detail files
* Accounts Payable detail files
* Files with Chart of Account information
* Creating Reports for Accounts Payable with Query/400
- The Basics of Query using the “Paid Invoices” file
- Working with more than one file
* Query Workshop


Day Two
* Creating reports for General Ledger with Query/400
- “Packaging” queries using Run Lists
- Menu Design: adding your reports to BTI menus

Logistics • Courses are held at BTI’s office in Vineland, New Jersey.
