Payroll Maintenance and Operations

Overview This course instructs your Payroll Personnel in using the BTI software to set up and maintain company and employee payroll information. Participants will learn how to do the following:
- Enter a new Employee and complete his payroll information,
- Setup and change the federal, state, or local taxes,
- Process Payroll information for the General Ledger,
- Get the totals required for payroll withholding or state and local tax deposits,
- Print payroll checks, or reprint when there is a problem,
- Calculate before and after tax deductions,
- Process a payroll,
- Maintain Employee payroll records,
- Set up and edit the company fringe benefits, and
- Process Monthly, Quarterly, and Year End reports (W2's and 1099's).

Prerequisites Participants should have some knowledge of the agency's payroll procedures, time accounting, wage tracking needs for general ledger, the chart of accounts, and federal publication Circular E. Knowledge of the AS/400, sign on procedures, and keyboard functions would also be helpful.

Intended Audience Individuals responsible for processing the payroll, maintaining payroll information, dealing with withholding information, updating employee payroll records, or those individuals that supervise payroll personnel and would like a thorough understanding of Payroll Maintenance and Operations.

Day Three:
* Fringe Benefits
* When do I need to process payroll information?
- Weekly processes
- Monthly processes
- Quarterly processes
- Year End Processes

Logistics • Courses are held at BTI’s office in Vineland, New Jersey.
• Beverages and lunch are provided for each full classroom day.
• Morning and evening meals are the responsibility of attendees.
• We are within convenient driving distance from both Philadelphia and Atlantic City airports and attractions.
• Attendees are responsible for providing their own hotel and travel accommodations.
• A listing of local hotels, restaurants, and directions will be provided upon course registration.
