Report Writing for Cost Analysis / State Fiscal Reporting

Course number: RW201

Overview Participants will learn how to create reports for cost analysis and state fiscal reporting. Participants are encouraged to bring samples of reports that they need to create. Workshop time will be allotted to create some of these reports.

Prerequisites Individuals should have detail knowledge of revenue and how it is tracked by their agency. They should understand how expenses are distributed throughout the agency and have a keen understanding of how they want to track these items.

Intended Audience CFO, Controllers, Senior Accountants, and MIS staff responsible for producing reports to analyze costs throughout the agency.

Agenda Day One:
* Understanding and review of the files used for cost analysis and their relationships.
- Accounts Receivable Files
- General Ledger Files
- Payroll
- Accounts Payable

Day Two:
* Creating reports for cost analysis or state fiscal reporting
- The basics of Query
- Working with more than one file
* Query Workshop

Day Three:
* Query Workshop
- Creating your own cost analysis reports
* Introduction to SQL
- Working with Query reports or databases and your PC

Logistics • Courses are held at BTI’s office in Vineland, New Jersey.
• Beverages and lunch are provided for each full classroom day.
• Morning and evening meals are the responsibility of attendees.
