CDS Report Writing (Medical Records and Accounts Receivable)
Course number: RW206
Overview This course will enable participants to use Query/400 and BTI/HSS’s Report Utility to design and create reports using data captured in the Client Master Files (Medical Records) and in the Accounts Receivable Files.
CDS file structures, related data processing and storage will be explained. Participants will learn how to use Query with CDS files, create data file extracts using Report Utility and querying those extract files.
Prerequisites Operational knowledge and experience with CDS.
Intended Audience Database Administrators, Medical Records Supervisors, Patient Account Supervisors, and MIS staff responsible for producing reports.

Agenda Day One:
* CDS Operations and CDS Data Files
- Accounts Receivable Files
- Client Master Files
- CDS Master Files
Day Two:
* Query/400
- A step-by-step instruction of Query/400 using Accounts Receivable data.
- A sample set of queries using Accounts Receivable and/or client data will be used to select queries for participants to create individually with instructor assistance.
Day Three:
* Report Utility
- Why and when Report Utility is needed and used
- Step-by-step creation of an extract file using Report Utility
- Using Query in resulting extract file
Day Four:
* Case Studies
- Other Report Utility extract features and uses
- Menu Designer
- Report Writing “practice” time
Logistics • Courses are held at BTI’s office in Vineland, New Jersey.
• Beverages and lunch are provided for each full classroom day.
• Morning and evening meals are the responsibility of attendees.
• We are within convenient driving distance from both Philadelphia and Atlantic City airports and attractions.
• Attendees are responsible for providing their own hotel and travel accommodations.
• A listing of local hotels, restaurants, and directions will be provided upon course registration.
• We reserve the right to cancel or change scheduled course dates based on minimum attendance requirements.
